Reṇukā Ṣaṭkam – Introduction
Reṇukā Ṣaṭkam is a short and devotional six-verse hymn composed by Kāvyakaṇṭha Vasiṣṭha Śrī Gaṇapati Muni in praise of Śrī Reṇukā Devī, the revered wife of Sage Jamadagni and the divine mother of Paraśurāma.
In this stotra, Reṇukā Devī is adored as a compassionate mother who is praised in forests and cities alike, who removes sins, suffering, diseases, and inner impurities, and who blesses her devotees with auspiciousness. The hymn beautifully presents her not only as the noble consort of Jamadagni, but also as a radiant divine force who protects the worlds and uplifts sincere devotees.
Through simple yet powerful verses, the devotee prays for her grace, purity of heart, protection from misfortune, and freedom from an untimely or inauspicious end.
