Yajña on the 8th day of the Waning Moon (Ashtami) is considered to be most powerful and most auspicious in Vedic Sanātana Dharma. Yajna is performed especially on this day, to win over enemies, ward off hostile forces, dispel negativity, pacify afflictions and for all-round protection. Ashtami is a most auspicious day for 'Sakti worship' and worshipping the 10 cosmic supreme powers (saktis) of the universe on this auspicious day is even more powerful.
