Kavyakantha Sri Ganapati Muni's
Indrani Saptasati
tṛtīyaścitripadā stabakaḥ

This Citripadā Stabaka is a deeply spiritual and yogic hymn to Śacī Devī, Indrāṇī, the beloved of Indra and the Supreme Mother who protects devotees, purifies the inner being, and reveals Herself through many paths of sādhana. The Stabaka opens with a prayer that even a tiny ray of Indrāṇī’s smile may remove the dense darkness of ignorance and bring auspiciousness.
The poet again prays for Bhāratabhūmi, describing the sacred land as weakened, robbed of its essence, tearful, and helpless. He invokes the Mother to make Bhārata “sanāthā” — protected, guided, and no longer orphaned. Thus, the Stabaka carries both personal devotion and national prayer.
Śacī is praised as the one who moves the king of the Devas, protects the worlds, guards those who bow to Her, destroys sins, nurtures the community of sages, and establishes auspiciousness in heaven. The devotee prays that even one spread of Her radiant glance may purify him.
A distinctive feature of this Stabaka is its reverence for all forms of sincere worshippers. Śrī Gaṇapati Muni declares himself the servant, follower, or worshipper of those who remember Her daily, chant Her pure name, worship Her yantra, repeat Her mantra, meditate on Her feet, enquire into their own true nature, and experience Her flowing within the body.
The Stabaka then rises into subtle yogic and Brahmavidyā symbolism. The Mother is worshipped as Kuṇḍalinī, awakened through the vision of the movement of prāṇa; as the divine presence discovered through enquiry into the root of sight; as the one found in the lotus of the Vedic heart; as the inner nāda perceived in purity; as the power experienced in the head through the nectar-flow; as the blissful wave in the rasa-current; and as the sacred presence held in the heart as the very form of true “I”-awareness.
The concluding verses expand this worship into daily life. The wise devotee sees every action as Her movement, every object as Her existence, and every perception as a subtle expression of Her kalā. The Stabaka ends with a prayer that the Mother may make the poet capable of protecting his own nation from all directions and fulfil the purpose of his life.
