Indrani Saptasati - The 700 Verses Mystical work of Kavyakantha Sri Ganapati Muni

This Stabaka reveals Śacī Devī as Taṭit-Śakti, the divine lightning-power of Indra, moving through clouds, sky, life, technology, prāṇa, and the subtle yogic body. Śrī Gaṇapati Muni begins by invoking Her smile to remove all impurity and prays that Indrāṇī, the Mother of the three worlds, may protect sorrowful Bhāratakṣiti.

The early verses describe Her cosmic form as lightning flashing through the cloud-canopy. Her lightning is beautiful like the charm of graceful women, yet also terrifying in power. Her flash delights Indra, subdues hostile forces, removes darkness, pacifies the sins of devotees, and shines in the path of the wind.

A striking modern insight appears in this Stabaka: the poet sees lamps, fans, machines, and many wondrous mechanical functions as expressions of Her electric rays. Thus, Śacī is not only a mythic goddess of heaven, but the living power behind electricity, movement, life, speech, hearing, sight, and human activity.

The Stabaka then moves into inner yoga. In the subtle suṣumnā path of disciplined sādhakas, She blazes as the flame of the kula-kuṇḍa. Her rays melt the moon in the head and pour nectar through the body, purifying it and filling it with divine exhilaration. The poet prays not merely for yogic bliss, but for clear intelligence and an unfailing method to protect his suffering nation.

The final verses invoke Her flows in different directions: through Varuṇa’s direction She gives great spiritual intoxication; through Indra’s direction She grants sharp and successful intelligence. The poet prays that She may rise through the pure suṣumnā for bliss and through the nectar-path for strength of wisdom. The Stabaka concludes with a direct appeal: reveal the right method for protecting Bhārata, make me capable, devoted, and successful.
